Katelyn + Todd // Steelwood – Alabama Wedding Photographers
When you shoot weddings almost every weekend, there is a chance that it can become routine. Although they are all special in their own way, somehow you start to operate more like a machine than a human. We are so honored to photograph one of the most important days in the lives of the brides and grooms that choose us, so we try to be as present as possible on their special days. But let’s face it, life happens. We get tired and run down. We travel. We move. We have kids. We have “Oh man, I didn’t make it to the grocery store” moments. We have stuff just like everyone else. As special as these days are and as passionate as we are about what we do, it is still our “job”.
Katelyn and Todd, two people we barely know, reminded us of how incredibly beautiful it is to do what we do. They showed us how special a wedding is. Slow down, take it in, be with the ones you love, share stories and family history, carry on traditions, fly in from across the country, sit together at a table and pass the bowl of fried chicken and waffles to your neighbor, attempt to dance even if it’s not your thing. This intimate wedding was so magical. Thank you to both of these families for allowing us to be a part of all of it.
